In honor of the Veterans’ Day coming up on November 11, 2025 here at Granby Jr. Sr. High School will be decorating a hallway full of our loved ones such as a brother, sister, grandparent, uncle, aunt, cousin, etc. who currently are or have been in any/ all branches of the military. We will be showing how we care and appreciate them with our “Hall of Heroes.”
Each student was sent an email asking to send in the name/names of loved ones (if any have been in the forces) and a photo in their military wear. As time passes people start to forget loved ones who have passed in the line of duty so having a day to celebrate reminds them of the sacrifices they made for their families and for our country.
While only the United States celebrates Veterans’ Day, many other countries celebrate similar holidays to honor veterans of all wars, though the names vary. In Canada Celebrates Remembrance Day on November 11th to honor all who have served in the Canadian Armed Forces. In the United Kingdom they celebrate Remembrance Sunday on the second Sunday of November to commemorate the fallen from all wars. Australia celebrates Remembrance Day on November 11th to honor veterans of World War I and II. And France has Armistice Day on November 11th to remember the end of World War I.
Even in different countries all around the world we still all believe that the lives of our loved ones who fought for us deserve to be celebrated. That is why it is important to celebrate the ones who have saved us.
