Mr. Castellano is the music teacher of Granby Jr./Sr. High School. His plans for the music program is to try to build it up again. I went around asking former band members, and they said that the former music teacher, (who will remain unnamed) “ruined it”, which made them quit. 

As of right now, the band at East Meadow has about 30 members and the high school band has 11. Mr. Castellano said he plans on combining both bands to have a larger group. He also said he plans on having concerts again now that he has enough kids in the band. The concerts he hopes to have are, Marching in a Parade, The Graduation at East Meadow, and around Christmas time.

As a side project there is a school rock band called “H Block”. Last year they played at Granby’s Got Talent and in the cafeteria in the high school on field day. The hopes are to do both again with new songs and new members “To get others interested in music again,” said Mr Castellano in an interview done last year. They are planning on doing a three-song show for the talent show again, and another twelve-song show this year.
